Police denies firing incident in Qazigund

SRINAGAR — Police on Monday refuted news about a militant attack in Dalwach area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A senior Police officer said that three firing-like sounds were heard near Dalwach Qazigund where police and CRPF were deployed.

“After thorough investigation, it was determined that the sounds came from the silencer of a Maruti Van which was crossing the Naka and that no firing had taken place,” the officer said.

The senior Police officer further said that public is requested not to propagate rumours of firing on Naka party as no such incident has occurred.
