Interestingly, the 23 year old youth from Central Kashmir’s Charar-i-Sharief township has written a love story which is inspired by the resistance movement in Kashmir.

The book depicts how two people meet amidst stone pelting and teargas shelling. Sufi writes about how both fall in love and get separated as a matter of fate.

“When people are consumed by resistance, other social issues get ignored,” believes Auqib, the author of “True Colours.”

He adds that teenagers find it hard to balance their lives between career, studies and relationship. “I tried to capture their lives immaculately in the book,” he said.

Apart from music, Auqib is a fanatical poem writer. He has written lyrics of songs like ‘A Silent Genocide – Rohingya’ and ‘Dead Eyes’ that was devoted to pellet gun victims of Kashmir. He was nominated for the CRDP award for this song.
