The Kashmir Pulse joins Working Journalist Media Council

SRINAGAR — The Kashmir Pulse, a prominent news portal operating from the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has officially become a member of the Working Journalist Media Council (WJMC). A membership certificate, bearing Reference No. WJMC/7489-141, was issued to The Kashmir Pulse on June 26 by WJMC, confirming its new membership status.

WJMC is a national association of online news portals committed to safeguarding and promoting the freedom of online journalism. With the primary objective of elevating the quality of news content, WJMC works towards enhancing the standards of online journalism in India.

As a self-regulatory body for online news publishers, WJMC is registered by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. It ensures adherence to the Code of Ethics and addresses grievances that remain unresolved by the news publisher after a 15-day period. WJMC is also registered under the Society Registration Act 21, 1860.
