PULWAMA — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that it recovered arms and ammunition from a shop in Dangerpora area of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An unnamed senior police officer, quoted by the news agency GNS, said that on a tip off, a joint team of police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Dangerpora area this evening.

“During searches, a pistol, two grenades, a magazine and 12 live rounds of 9mm were recovered from a shop belonging to Sajad Ahmad Dar, a resident of Tahab village,” he said.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been taken up, he added.

It is in place to mention here that a militant associate was arrested with grenades in Pulwama four days ago, as claimed by the local police.

The suspect, identified as Danish Bashir of Dangerpora, Pulwama, was intercepted while riding a scooter. A search of his vehicle, police said, revealed 10 live grenades and five batteries concealed under the seat.
