Migrant worker shot and injured in Tral

SRINAGAR — A 19-year-old migrant worker was injured when gunmen, suspected to be militants, opened fire on him in Batagund village of Tral, located in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on Thursday morning.

An unnamed official, quoted by a local news agency, stated that a bullet struck the non-local in his hand, causing injury.

He has since been evacuated to a nearby hospital in Tral, where his condition is said to be stable.

The injured was identified as 19-year-old Shubam Kumar, son of Pritambar Singh.

Meanwhile, following the incident, security forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area, where a search operation is currently underway.
