SRINAGAR — An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in Rampora forest area of Sopore in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday evening.
An unnamed police officer, quoted by the news agency NVI, said that a militant has been killed by security forces in Sopore, whose identity is yet to be ascertained.
He added that as the joint team of security forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering a gunfight.
The police officer further said that the operation was still going on in the area.
