Udhampur resident fatally shot by militants in Anantnag: Police

SRINAGAR — In a tragic incident, a resident of Udhampur was shot dead by suspected militants on Monday evening near Janglat Mandi, located in the southern region of Anantnag district in Kashmir.

The victim, identified as Deepu, was working at a private circus mela in an amusement park near Janglat Mandi when suspected militants opened fire, inflicting fatal injuries upon him. Swift action was taken to rush him to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds.

The Kashmir Zone Police took to Twitter to provide the initial details of the incident, stating that a case has been registered, and investigations are currently underway.
