SRINAGAR — In a first of its kind, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank authorities in a bid to economize the expenses decided to put an end to issuing the calendars and diaries in hard form and would this year come up with digital calendars and diaries.
The branches of J&K Bank would usually witness a huge rush of customers to get their copies of calendars and diaries, but this time, the rush of customers will be missed as the authorities have opted for digital calendars and diaries.
Officials have taken this initiative to economize the expenses. “The Bank has been distributing calendars and diaries to its customers and the general public for decades so far which has created a special emotional connect between the bank and the masses,” an official statement of J&K Bank reads.
It added that with the digitalization of various functional areas of our daily life post COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide their memorandum dated 02.09.2020 decided/directed all Government organizations including banks to opt for digital calendars and diaries w.e.f. 2021 for economizing the expenses, wider reach and efficiency. Consequently, no calendars and diaries in hard form will be printed for the upcoming year, it added.
The digital calendars shall be rolled out in due course of time which shall hopefully receive as much applaud and acceptance from the people as has been with the physical form so far, the statement said, adding that all staff members are advised to communicate to the public the initiative taken by the bank for digitalization of calendars from 2021 to align with the aforesaid change for strengthening the decades-old emotional capital of the bank with the general public.
