SRINAGAR — While addressing a press conference at Raj Bhawan, honourable LG Manoj Sinha told reporters that every Panchayat will get Rs 10 lac, Panchs will decide which work to do according to need in their village and it will be facilitated by concerned officers.
Calling the Back To Village programme a successful beginning, he assured that much more things will be done in future.
When one of the reporters asked that 10 lac is a very meagre amount, Honourable LG answered that it is just a beginning while Rahul Kansal echoed that overall it is 4.50 crore for all Panchayats.
One of the journalists questioned honourable LG whether there are any schemes for downtown urban areas, the Governor said that there will be separate policies for the Municipal Corporations.
Moreover, he assured that there will be zero tolerance against corruption.
While replying to a question on alleged fake encounter of the three youth at Amshipora, Shopian hailing from Rajouri, he replied that justice will be delivered to their families and law will take its own course. It is worthwhile to mention that families in a letter to LG had expressed their dissatisfaction over the slow pace of investigation.
When asked whether there was any economic package for suffering trade from the last 15 months, he answered Kashmir is suffering from not only 15 months but the last 15 years. He assured proposal of such a package is under consideration that Jammu Kashmir would have never got before.
