SBI to launch rehabilitation scheme for flood affected customers

Jammu: The State Bank of India today said that it will soon launch rehabilitation and restructuring scheme for its customers affected by the floods in Kashmir.
In a statement here today the bank said in the post-flood period, it has made 63 out of its 67 branches operational in Kashmir Valley till today. “The remaining four branches one each at Badshah Chowk, Badami Bagh, Jawahar Nagar and Rajbagh in the Srinagar city are in the inundated areas and these branches have suffered extensive damage to equipment. It shall take some more time to make these branches operational,” the bank in a statement said.
“The customers of these branches can avail banking facility from nearby branches of our bank for the time being,” it said.
“In addition, 132 ATMs in the Valley are functioning normally,” it said.
The SBI has also deployed 7 mobile ATMs at the places which are still inaccessible in Srinagar, and these are serving large population.
“The SBI technical team and local staff have worked day and night to restore full operations at the branches in Kashmir.”
“The customers can approach the branches and also conduct transactions as per their requirement on the ATMs,” it said.
