SRINAGAR — Students of Class 11th Thursday accused authorities of the J&K State Board of School Education of inordinately delaying declaration of the results of their annual examination held in October last year.
“As per norms, the BOSE was supposed to declare the results within 40 days after the culmination of exams but more than two months have passed and our results are still awaited,” said Ishfaq, a Class 11th student from Baramulla.
The students have apprehensions of “mass errors” in evaluation which, they said, could be a reason for delay in result declaration.
An official dealing with evaluation of answer scripts attributed the delay to dearth of evaluators. He said evaluation of English subject was incomplete due to shortage of evaluators.
A source in JKBOSE said the result was completed recently but formal announcement would be made only after a nod by the administrative department.
“The result is complete and ready for announcement but JKBOSE had to clear some technicalities for which we need nod from the administrative department,” the source said.
Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai was not available for his comments. (GKNN)
