Class 8th exam will continue to be conducted by SIE

SRINAGAR — The School Education Department on Sunday clarified that the annual exams of Class 8th will continue to be conducted by the State Institute of Education (SIE).

An official said that some confusion has been created about the announcement made by Governor’s Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganai regarding conduct of exams for lower classes.

“The exams will continue to be conducted by SIE. The exams for Class 5th to 7th will be conducted at school level for which the department will come with the details,” the official said.

Earlier, some confusion was created among masses that the schools have been authorised to hold Class 8th annual exams.

“There is no truth in it. The exam is a minor Board exam and will be conducted by SIE,” the official said.
