Earlier, educational institutions across Jammu, including the sensitive border districts, reopened on Thursday.

The reopening of schools in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, and Udhampur marks a significant step toward restoring normalcy in the region after days of tension along the India-Pakistan border.

On May 13, schools in non-border districts, including Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, and Ramban, resumed academics following a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan that took place on May 10.

“The reopening of schools in the border districts is a relief for students, teachers and parents. After days of uncertainty, we are happy to see children back in classrooms,” said a spokesperson for the Directorate of School Education.
