Govt orders Winter vacations from December 21

SRINAGAR — The authorities on Friday ordered Winter vacations in all the Government educational institutions including recognized private schools up to higher secondary level, functioning in Kashmir division and Winter zone of Jammu division from December 21 till February 28.

As per order issued by B.K Singh, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, “Online classes will be voluntary in nature for both teachers and students.”

“It is hereby ordered that all the Government educational institutions including recognized private schools up to higher secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division and Winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe Winter vacation w.e.f 21st of December, 2020 to 28th of February, 2021,” reads the order.

“However, Winter tutorials for Class 11 to 12 and online classes will be voluntary in nature for both teachers and students and shall be held by strictly adhering to the SOPs of COVID-19 issued by the Government from time to time.” reads the order.

“Any default on part of the Head of the school(s) in observance of the calendar and SOPs of COVID-19 shall attract strict action under rules,” the order added.
