IGNOU Study Centre inaugurated at GDC Women Sopore

SOPORE — Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) study centre (30029) was today inaugurated at GDC Women Sopore.

The event commenced with the inauguration of IGNOU office by Regional Director IGNOU Srinagar, Dr. M. Safadare Azame.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. M. Safadare Azame stressed on the importance of Open Education and the courses offered by IGNOU.

In his welcome address, Prof. Fazulu Raheem Beigh, Principal of the college welcomed the distinguished guests and congratulated all the ‘stakeholders’ of the college for achieving Grade B in NAAC accreditation.

Dr. Showkat Subhan Mir (Head – Environment Studies) presented a detailed report on the functioning of the college.

Dr. G. Mohi Ud Din (Head – Department of Botany), Prof. Nisar Ahmad Kangoo (Head – Department of Computer Applications), Prof. Irfan Ali (Head – Department of Education) and Prof Feroz Ahmad Tantray (Head – Department of Sociology) along with a good number of teaching & non-teaching staff members and students were present in the function.

The program proceedings were conducted by Prof. Irfan Ali (Head – Department of Education) while as Dr. Nusrat Aziz (Head – Department of Physics) proposed the Vote of Thanks.
