Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education - JKBOSE

SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has removed the requirement of securing at least 20% marks in a subject to apply for re-evaluation of answer scripts, allowing eligible candidates to seek a review irrespective of their scores.

According to the news agency KNO, JKBOSE Director Academics Dr Parveen Singh announced the decision in a notification withdrawing the earlier condition that permitted re-evaluation only in subjects where a candidate had secured 20% or more of the allotted marks.

“In partial modification, it is notified for information of all the stakeholders that the condition ‘re-evaluation shall be permissible only in such papers in which the candidate has secured 20% or more marks assigned to the concerned subject is withdrawn,” the notification stated.

The revised provision applies to candidates appearing in Classes 10, 11 and 12, Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and Jammu and Kashmir State Open School (JK SOS) examinations for Classes 10 and 12.

The notification states that candidates can apply for re-evaluation irrespective of the marks obtained in the concerned subject, subject to the prescribed procedure, timeline and fee.

However, all other terms and conditions governing re-evaluation, as notified by the board from time to time, will remain unchanged.

The notification will have prospective effect, meaning the revised provision applies going forward.
