KU for Academic Auditing of Degree Colleges

Srinagar, Dec 28: Keeping in view the larger interests of the students and the society as a whole, Kashmir University has decided that it will from now onwards be carrying academic audit of all the degree colleges.
This was decided at a high level meeting of the colleges principals of the valley chaired by Vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof. Talat Ahmad. The meeting organised by the college development council of the university and held in the committee room of the administrative block, University of Kashmir was also attended by Registrar Prof. Syed Fayaz, organiser and Dean Colleges Prof. Mushtaq A Kaw, Controller examinations Prof. Abdul Salam Bhat, and officers of the Varsity.
At the outset Prof. Kaw dean colleges KU briefed the Vice Chancellor about the agenda of the meeting such as academic monitoring, subject combinations, affiliation for new subjects, UGC guidelines regarding proposals, projects and various steps the DCDC has taken in the recent past to build cordial, fruitful and productive relations with colleges.
All the college principals unanimously appreciated the role of KU in bringing excellence in higher education and agreed to the KU initiative of academic audit of colleges which they said will pave way for further making colleges tread the path of excellence in education.
Vice chancellor Kashmir University, Prof. Talat Ahmad assured the principals that KU will support all endeavors of the colleges which are student specific and aimed at promoting excellence in higher education.” We have already initiated a change process at KU and we hope that the benefits of this change process reached to colleges as well.” said VC to principals. Academic audit is something beneficial to all the stake holders especially students, VC added.
