KU teacher awarded for contribution in Plant Biochemistry

Srinagar: Dr. Bashir Ahmad Ganai, Associate Professor Department of Biochemistry, University of Kashmir has been awarded Smt. Kamla Devi and Sri Ram Lal Dhiman APSI Award by Academy of Plant Sciences, India (APSI) for his outstanding contribution in the field of Plant Biochemistry. The award was conferred on Dr. Ganai in a glittering ceremony on the occasion of inauguration of National Conference on Modern Trends in Plant Sciences held at T.C College Baramati District Pune Maharashtra from 3rd to 5th Feb. 2012. The award comprised of a Gold Medal and a citation which he received from chief guest of the conference Dr. A.P. Karvei., Chairman Appropriate Agricultural Technology Institute, Pune.
Beside this Dr. Ganai also received three more awards in 2011 which include Einstein’s Award of Excellence. He and his scholar received Young Investigators Award in the Environment, Genes, Health And Diseases International Conference (EGHD-2011) held at Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore Tamil Nadu. On the event of Golden Jubilee of Department of Botany, University of Kashmir Dr. Ganai’s scholars received the best poster awards.
