SED directs all vaccinated staff to attend duty from Tuesday

SRINAGAR — The School Education Department on Tuesday said that all vaccinated staff of the department shall attend their duties from Tuesday.

In an exclusive conversation, Principal Secretary to Government for School Education Department, B K Singh said that the decision was taken considering the improvement in COVID-19 cases across Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh said that only vaccinated staff of the department will have to attend the duties at their respective postings. He said, “We are deliberating on the issue of non-vaccinated staff of the department.”

In the meantime, Singh in an order said, “All vaccinated staff shall attend Offices.”

He said that a detailed survey report on the impact of community classes shall be submitted weekly. “Community classes shall be taken regularly by academic staff including teachers as per prescribed guidelines in all feasible areas including Jammu and Kashmir Division,” the order reads.

It also asked for daily reporting of academic work including community classes, homework for online classes by Directors of School Education regularly.

Pertinently, the government on Sunday ordered the educational establishments of Jammu and Kashmir to remain closed till further orders.

In the meantime, the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh on Sunday ordered reopening of schools in Kargil district for 9-12 classes in a staggered manner from August 2.
