SRINAGAR — Amid the heatwave, the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department on Friday announced summer vacations from July 4 to July 14 in the winter zones of the Kashmir division.
According to the news agency Kashmir News Observer, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, B K Singh in this regard issued the formal orders.
Singh said, “It is ordered that all the government educational institutions and recognized private schools up to higher secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe summer vacation with immediate effect from 4th of July to 14th of July.”
He said that the orders were issued in view of the ongoing heatwave and the letters received from the Directors of both the Jammu and Kashmir regions.
On June 28, it was reported that the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department is likely to announce summer vacations for the winter zones of the Kashmir division from the first week of July.
Earlier in May, the authorities had announced summer vacations in the Jammu region for all classes from May 23 and May 30 respectively.
