PULWAMA — The district-level award ceremony for institutions that have shown exemplary progress towards maintaining sanitary and hygienic conditions in the district was held on Thursday at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Pulwama.
The function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary; Chief Education Officer Pulwama; Principals, ZEOs, HOIs of all High schools, HOIs of winner schools, students and public representatives attended the function.
Various cultural programs on Swachh Vidyalaya and Swachh Bharat were presented by school children to create awareness among people about Swatchta Abhiyan.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC Pulwama highly appreciated the role of the CEO and his team for their efforts on Swach Bharat Abhiyan and the successful culmination of the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar ceremony.
Highlighting the importance of Swachta, Mr Baseer-ul-Haq urged the participants to be part of the change so that the dream of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan could be attained and realized.
The DC distributed awards among the winning schools of the district under Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) 2021-22 in the district-level award ceremony.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama informed that a total of 556 schools from district Pulwama had applied online for the district-level SVP Award and 210 were approved by the Ministry of Education and Literacy, Government of India.
After proper physical verification and evaluation of all the schools, 36 schools were selected for the award.
It is in place to mention here that the district-level award ceremony was organised by the Department of Education in collaboration with the district administration of Pulwama to award the winning schools.
