Coronavirus suspect quarantined in GMC Anantnag

SRINAGAR — A woman who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia, suspected of Coronavirus infection, has been kept in an isolation ward at Government Medical College Hospital in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Medical Superintendent GMC, Anantnag, Dr Majid Mehraj said that the 75-year-old woman who hails from Panzath Anantnag village arrived in the hospital.

“She was suffering from flu and fever and keeping her travel history into account, it was found desirable to take her samples and send them to laboratory for testing and we did the same,” he said.

He added that the elderly woman had recently returned from Saudi Arabia where she had gone for a pilgrimage.

Earlier, a patient from district Poonch has also been quarantined after he showed symptoms of Coronavirus.
