SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir reported 280 new COVID-19 cases while four more persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

They said 131 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 149 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 317761.

Providing the district-wide details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 49 cases, Baramulla 8, Budgam 16, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 17, Anantnag 13, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 16, Kulgam 10, Shopian 1, Jammu 18, Udhampur 6, Rajouri 8, Doda 36, Kathua 1, Samba 0, Kishtwar 6, Poonch 2, Ramban 5 and Reasi 49.

Regarding the fatalities, they said, three were reported from Jammu division and one from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 4349.

Moreover, they said, 419 more COVID-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours—197 from Jammu Division and 222 from Kashmir. So far 309973 patients have recovered, leaving active cases at 3439—1509 in Jammu and 1930 in Kashmir.

There was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today and thus the cumulative number of confirmed cases remains 30 in J&K.
