
PULWAMA — To further contain the spread of COVID-19, scores of beneficiaries including nomadic Gujjars, Bakerwals have been tested in the district so far, particularly in Tral area, under the testing programme launched by the Health department, Pulwama.
In this connection, a team of health officials from PHC Pinglish tested scores of nomadic people in Pinglish, Shikargah and adjoining areas.
On the occasion, Health officials said that they are trying to cover all the nomadic population to be tested to trace the infected persons (if any), adding the department is also convincing the nomadic population to get vaccinated at an earliest.
Misra Begum, a nomadic woman, said she is very happy and thankful to officials of the Health Department who came to the far flung area to test the people.
“Elders, women, men and children, all of us were tested smoothly and also were made aware regarding the precautionary measures to be taken during the prevailing situation to contain the infection of deadly disease,” she added.
