
JAMMU — An intruder was killed as the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday said it foiled an infiltration bid in Pathankot on the international border.
An unnamed official, quoted by the news agency JKNS, said that at pre-dawn, BSF troops observed a suspicious movement across the international border in BOP Tashpatan, Pathankot area and an intruder was observed crossing the border.
He said that the intruder was challenged by the alert troops but paid no heed and kept on moving.
BSF troops, sensing threat, neutralised the intruder while the identity and motive of the intruder were being ascertained, he said.
The vigilant BSF troops thwarted the infiltration attempt and a strong protest will be lodged with Pakistan Rangers, he said.
