14 travelers among 308 new COVID-19 cases in J&K

SRINAGAR — Fourteen travelers were among 308 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

Among them, they said, 174 are from Jammu Division and 134 from Kashmir Valley.

Giving district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 65 cases, Baramulla 14, Budgam 21, Kupwara 2, Pulwama 12, Anantnag 4, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 4, Shopian 1, Jammu 99, Udhampur 14, Rajouri 10, Doda 6, Kathua 7, Kishtwar 6, Samba 14, Poonch 2, Ramban 0 and Reasi 16.

Moreover, they said, 281 more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—111 from Jammu Division and 170 from Kashmir Valley.

45-year-old man among six more die of COVID-19, J&K toll 1850

A 45-year-old man was among six more people who succumbed to COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the fatality count to 1850, officials said on Tuesday.

Among those who succumbed include a resident of Kashmir valley—a 65-year-old man from Kupwara besides five persons from Jammu division—a 61-year-old man Naseeb Nagar Jammu, an 80-year-old man from Bhalwal Jammu, a 78-year-old man from Vijaypur Samba, a 58-year-old woman from Shangroo Banjoi Doda and a 45-year-old man from Chan Kanthi Reasi.

With these deaths, the total fatality count in J&K reached 1850—1169 in the Valley and 681 in the Jammu region.

Srinagar district with 443 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (346), Baramulla (170), Budgam (106), Kupwara (89), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (82), Doda (61), Bandipora (58), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (48), Ganderbal (43), Shopian (37), Samba (37), Poonch (22), Ramban (21), Kishtwar (21), and Reasi (14).
