
SRINAGAR — 25 travelers were among 471 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.
Of these cases, 260 were confirmed from Jammu Division and 211 from Kashmir Valley which has taken the J&K’s overall virus tally to 109854, the officials said.
They said Srinagar reported 86 cases, Baramulla 31, Budgam 21, Pulwama 16, Kupwara 14, Anantnag 12, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 1, Shopian 9, Jammu 122, Rajouri 24, Udhampur 26, Doda 22, Kathua 14, Poonch 2, Samba 15, Kishtwar 17, Ramban 17 and Reasi 1.
Moreover, 491 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals — 168 from Jammu Division and 323 from Kashmir Valley.
Five more deaths in J&K, toll 1685
Jammu and Kashmir reported five more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking its fatality count to 1685.
Among those who succumbed to the virus, three were from Jammu region and two from Kashmir which took the death toll past 1100-mark in the Valley, officials said on Sunday.
The victims from Valley include a 65-year-old man from Noorbagh Baramulla, a 75-year-old woman from Handwara. The victims from Jammu include two from Udhampur district and one from the J&K’s Winter capital — a 77-year-old from Old Rehari Amphalla.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1101 and 584 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 416 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (298), Baramulla (163), Budgam (100), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (83), Anantnag (78), Doda (56), Bandipora (50), Kulgam (50), Rajouri (49), Udhampur (49), Ganderbal (38), Shopian (37), Kathua (36), Samba (29), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar (16), and Reasi (9).
