
SRINAGAR — The deadly pandemic on Saturday claimed 14 more lives in Kashmir, taking the number of deaths related to COVID-19 in J&K to 468.
Officials said that 14 patients who died include a 55-year-old woman from Nowhara Tahab Pulwama, a 50-year-old man from Zaloora Sopore, a 70-year-old man from Kreeri Baramulla, a 65-year-old man from Sopore Baramulla, a 60-year-old man from Panzgam Kupwara and a 50-year-old woman from Natipora Srinagar.
A 70-year-old man from Nawa Kadal Srinagar, a 58-year-old man from Gurez Bandipora, a 70-year-old man from Handwara Kupwara, a 70-year-old woman from Khanmoh Pantha Chowk, a 70-year-old woman from Bijbehara Anantnag, a 60-year-old woman from Qaimoh Kulgam, a 65-year-old woman from Tangmarg and a 55-year-old woman from Sogam Lolab also include among the deceased.
An official from SKIMS said that a 50-year-old man from Zaloora Sopore who was admitted with diabetes, respiratory failure and bilateral pneumonia died on Wednesday.
He said that a 65-year-old man from Sopore who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia died on Saturday due to Cardiopulmonary arrest.
He further added that a 50-year-old woman from Natipora Srinagar who was admitted on August 06 died on Saturday.
He added that a 58-year-old man from Gurez Bandipora who was admitted on August 05 died on Saturday.
A 70-year-old patient from Handwara who was admitted on August 01 also died on Saturday, he said.
An official from SMHS said that a 70-year-old woman from Khonmoh Pantha Chowk who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia breathed her last on Saturday.
He added that a 70-year-old man from Nawakadal who was admitted on August 01 died on Saturday.
A 60-year-old man from Panzgam Handwara who was admitted August 03 with bilateral pneumonia died on Saturday, he said, adding that a 70-year-old man Kreeri Baramulla who was admitted on August 06 also died on Saturday.
An official from JVC said that a 55-year-old woman from Sogam Lolab who was admitted on August 06 died on Saturday.
He added that a 60-year-old woman from Qaimoh area of Kulgam was admitted on August 04 died on Saturday.
An official from GMC Anantnag said that a woman from Bijbehara area who was admitted a few days before with pneumonia died on Saturday.
An official from GMC Baramulla said that a 65-year-old woman from Tangmarg who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia and was in surgical observation died on Saturday.
An official from District Hospital Pulwama said that a 55-year-old woman from Nowhara Tahab died on Friday evening at DH Pulwama.
With 14 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 468 including 434 from Kashmir division and 34 from Jammu division.
