SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir reported 20 more COVID-19 related deaths, taking the fatality count to 1064. Those who succumbed to the virus include five from Kashmir Valley and remaining from Jammu division.

Among the victims from Jammu include a 55-year-old from Paloura Jammu, a 70-year-old from Gorkha Nagar, a 42-year-old from Akhnoor, an 82-year-old man from Flora Nagban and a 54-year-old from Jagti Jammu.

Two among the victims succumbed at SKIMS Soura including a 75-year-old woman from Bhaderwah who was admitted to the tertiary care hospital two days ago. “The patient was diagnosed with hypertension, T2DM severe COVID pneumonia, and died due to cardiopulmonary arrest,” a doctor at the hospital said.

A 55-year-old woman from Ramban who was diagnosed with “intestinal obstruction with severe COVID pneumonia” also died due to cardiopulmonary arrest, the doctor added.

Regarding the deaths from Valley, they said, a 57-year-old man from Kupwara died at SMHS Hospital, nine days after he was admitted.

They said an 82-year-old man from Chandpora Harwan died at SKIMS Bemina, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of COVID-19 patients.

They said an 82-year-old man from Peerbagh Srinagar died, seven days after he was admitted at a hospital here.
