Death from COVID-19

SRINAGAR — The death toll due to Coronavirus has crossed 600-mark in Jammu and Kashmir as 14 more patients including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man died on Friday in Kashmir division.

An official said that 14 patients who died include a 52-year-old CRPF man of 61 battalion, a 70-year-old man from Budina Budgam, an 85-year-old man from Drangbal Pampore, a 70-year-old woman from Sopore Baramulla, a 62-year-old man from Gantmulla Baramulla, a 65-year-old man from Wagoora area of Baramulla, a 70-year-old male from Drass, a 70-year-old woman from Qazipora Bandipora, a 65-year-old male from Chadoora Budgam, a 75-year-old male from Shopian, a 65-year-old lady from Chadoora Budgam, a 74-year-old man from Kralpora Budgam, a 70-year-old woman from Chattabal Srinagar and a 67-year-old male from Dalgate Srinagar.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a 52-year-old CRPF man from 61 battalion Shivpora Srinagar who was admitted on August 18, died on Friday.

He added that a patient from Budina Budgam who was admitted on August 20, an 85-year-old man from Drangbal Pampore who was admitted on August 14 and a patient from Sopore who was admitted on August 8, also died on Friday. He further added that the latest report of a patient from Sopore was negative.

An official from SMHS Hospital said that a patient from Gantmulla Baramulla who was admitted on August 17, a patient from Kachu Maqam Wagoora Baramulla who was admitted with chronic kidney disease, diabetes and bilateral pneumonia on August 8, a patient from Drass who was admitted on August 16 with COPD, hypertension, sepsis and pneumonia, a patient from Qazipora Bandipora who was admitted on August 20, a patient from Chadoora who was tested positive through rapid antigen test, a patient from Shopian who was undergoing treatment from last many days and a patient from Chadoora Budgam who was admitted with diabetes and hypertension on August 20 died at SMHS in the last 24 hours.

An official from JVC Bemina said that a patient from Kralpora Budgam who was admitted on August 18 and a patient from Chan Mohalla Chattabal Srinagar who was admitted on August 14 died on Friday.

An official from CD Hospital said that a patient from Dalgate Srinagar who was admitted on August 11 died on Friday.

With 14 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 606 including 565 from Kashmir division and 41 from Jammu division.
