COVID-19: Eight more test positive in J&K, tally now 70

SRINAGAR — Eight new cases tested positive on Thursday for novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 70 in the Union Territory.

In the Kashmir division, three tested positive while in Jammu, five were reported to have been infected by the virus.

In India, the number of infections due to COVID-19 has reached 1,965. The pandemic has so far claimed at least 50 lives in the country so far.

The seriousness of the situation can be understood from the fact that on April 01 alone, 565 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 9 new fatalities were reported.
