COVID-19: J&K High Court to function virtually again

SRINAGAR — Amid spike in COVID-19 positive cases in the Union Territory, the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday put its earlier order regarding resumption of physical hearings of cases in abeyance and informed that the Court will again function virtually.

“Keeping in view the sudden surge in COVID-19 infection cases in the country in general and UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in particular, the High Court order No. 839IRG dated 03.02.2021 regarding resumption of physical hearing of cases is kept in abeyance for the time being and the hearing of cases in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir as well as in the District and Subordinate Courts and Tribunals shall be conducted through Virtual Mode,” reads an order issued by Registrar General in this regard.

“The hearing of cases in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir as well as in the district and subordinate courts and tribunals shall be conducted through virtual mode,” it said.

“The directions shall remain in force till April 18 and till that time, entry of litigants and public shall be prohibited into court premises,” it added.
