COVID-19: J&K tally 296 with 18 more fresh positive cases

SRINAGAR — 18 more patients from Kashmir division tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

With these 18 fresh cases testing positive from Kashmir on Tuesday, the number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has surged to 296. Four persons, one lady from Udhampur and rest from Kashmir division have died so far, while as more than 30 patients have recovered, who had earlier tested positive.

3 out of eighteen samples collected from JLMN Hospital were tested in Government Medical College Laboratory at CD Hospital, while 15 at SKIMS, the two laboratories designated as COVID related labs for Kashmir division.

29 travelers among 434 new COVID-19 cases in J&K

SKIMS is taking care of samples from Ganderbal, Budgam and north Kashmir, while for the rest of the region, CD Hospital lab is designated for testing the samples of the probable patients of COVID-19.

Out of 15 patients testing positive in SKIMS lab, officials said 8 are from Ganderbal, 5 from Baramulla and 2 from Kupwara districts.
