SRINAGAR — Electrical employees in Jammu and Kashmir have decided to resume their postponed strike from next month to attract the attention of the government towards their ‘legitimate’ demands.
“The strike will start on February 2 next month. There will be a massive protest program at the Chief Office on February 14 and 15 with mass casual leave,” said a member of the Electrical Employees Union, Central Core Committee.
According to the news agency KNT, he said that if their grievances are not addressed, there will be a protest in all circles a day in a week. The electrical employees alleged that the government is buying time and only giving false assurances.
“Step motherly treatment to employees is done on various issues like delay in conduction of DPC on state, divisional and circle level from last two decades, fixing of seniority, scrapping of welfare scheme and wages of unpaid TDL/PDL employees and various issues of clerks and drivers,” the employee said.
