Four minors among 388 new COVID-19 cases in J&K

SRINAGAR — Twenty-one travellers and four minors were among 388 fresh COVID-19 cases — 163 from Jammu Division and 225 from Kashmir Valley — in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in J&K to 117705, officials said on Friday.

Also, seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported — four from Jammu Division and three from Kashmir Valley.

Among them, the officials said that Srinagar reported 82 cases, Baramulla 14, Budgam 15, Kupwara 13, Pulwama 33, Anantnag 36, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 18, Kulgam 4, Shopian 3, Jammu 92, Udhampur 10, Rajouri 7, Doda 8, Kathua 16, Kishtwar 8, Samba 11, Poonch 2, Ramban 5 and Reasi 4.

Meanwhile, they said, 464 more COVID-19 atients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals — 213 from Jammu Division and 251 from Kashmir Valley.

COVID-19 claims seven more lives, J&K’s toll 1833

Jammu and Kashmir reported seven more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 1833 in J&K.

Four among the victims belonged to Jammu division and three to Kashmir Valley, officials said on Friday.

Among others, the victims include a 52-year-old woman from Bemina Srinagar, a 55-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar, a 62-year-old woman from Beerwah Budgam, a 66-year-old from Sainik Colony Jammu and a 74-year-old man from Talab Tillo Jammu.

With these deaths, the total fatality count in J&K reached 1833 — 1164 in the Valley and 669 in the Jammu region.

Srinagar district with 441 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (342), Baramulla (170), Budgam (106), Pulwama (88), Kupwara (88), Anantnag (82), Doda (60), Bandipora (57), Udhampur (55), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (47), Ganderbal (42), Shopian (37), Samba (34), Poonch (22), Ramban (21), Kishtwar (21), and Reasi (13).
