Body of Kashmiri man retrieved in Rajouri

RAJOURI — Police on Sunday retrieved a body of a 50-year-old man from a Nallah in Budhal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police officer said that the male body aged about 50 years old was spotted by some locals and informed about it.

Soon after being informed, the officer said that a police team from the police station concerned reached the spot at Gabbar Nallah and retrieved the body.

He identified the deceased as Ghulam Nabi Khanda son of Mohammad Abdullah, a resident of Shopian district in south Kashmir.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the man has been murdered, he said.

He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and subsequently, in prompt action, the police station concerned arrested a suspected person namely Shabir Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar of Rajnagar Budhal.

He said that further investigations have been initiated to solve the murder case.
