
KATHUA — Jammu Kashmir Police Chief Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said that a copter was shot down by BSF and it was carrying consignment for a militant operating in south Kashmir.
Pertinently, Border Security Force shot down a copter in Kathua region of Jammu and Kashmir recently. DGP said that it carried consignment that was for a non-local militant Ali Bhai, who is active in south Kashmir.
The police chief was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Rajouri region of Jammu.
In response to a question, the police chief said that this year militants are being neutralized at a faster rate and the militancy in Valley is in diminishing mode. He said in the first six months of the current year, 100 plus militants have been killed.
Dilbagh further said that the resignation of Syed Ali Geelani from Hurriyat Conference was a sign of failure of separatism in Kashmir.
In reference with the purported letter attributed to Syed Ali Geelani which is viral, the police chief said that some points mentioned by Geelani in his letter shows negative approach of the separatists which results in widespread losses of public life and property.
