Injured in Pak shelling, BSF Constable succumbs

JAMMU — Another trooper of the Border Security Force succumbed during treatment at a hospital here on Sunday. The BSF trooper had sustained critical injuries in cross-border shelling along the International Border in R S Pura Sector.

“We salute the supreme sacrifice made by BSF Braveheart Constable (GD) Deepak Chimngakham in the service of the nation,” BSF Jammu posted on X.

It further mentioned that he sustained fatal injuries during cross-border firing along the International Boundary in R S Pura area, District Jammu on May 10, and succumbed on May 11.

DG BSF and all ranks express their deepest condolences to his family, it said.

The wreath-laying ceremony with full honours shall take place on Monday at Frontier HQ Jammu, Paloura.

Earlier, on May 10, one BSF Sub-Inspector, Md Imteyaz, was killed in cross-border firing along the International Border in R S Pura Sector of Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday paid homage to the slain BSF Sub Inspector at a wreath-laying ceremony that took place at BSF Frontier Headquarters.
