POONCH — The Indian Army along with J&K Police on Friday claimed to have arrested three ‘key’ conduits in Sunderbani narco-militancy case.
“In the follow-up operations to the Sunderbani narcotics recovery case, multiple joint operations have been conducted by Indian Army, JKP Poonch & JKP Sunderbani in Poonch District, in the last 72 hours,” a Defence ministry-based spokesperson in Jammu said in a statement, as per the news agency GNS.
He said three main conduits or operatives of the cross-narco-militancy module have been apprehended. These individuals have been identified as Shakar Din son of Noor Din, resident of Degwar Terwan; Rashid son of Badar Din and Shafir son of Mohammad Hussain, both residents of Kalas Poonch.
“In the search operations, war-like stores, which include two grenades, have also been recovered from the possession of these individuals,” he said and added that extensive joint search operations are currently in progress.
The apprehension of these three individuals, he said, is a major blow to the complex cross-border narco-militancy nexus “being operated” from Pakistan.
