Srinagar man killed due to shooting stone in Ramban

RAMBAN — A person was killed, while another one was injured when their vehicle was hit by a shooting stone near Marog area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Official sources said that in the afternoon, a shooting stone hit a Creta car bearing number JK01AA-9863, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, near Marog Ramban area, resulting in the on-spot death of one person and injuries to another.

A police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person to a nearby hospital, where he was responding to treatment when the last reports poured in.

Officials identified the deceased as Waseem Azad son of Meraj Din from Munawarabad, Khayam Chowk Srinagar. The injured has been identified as Manzoor Azad son of Ali Mohammad of Munawarabad, Khayam Chowk Srinagar.

In this connection, Ramban Police has taken cognizance of the accident.
