SRINAGAR — Government forces on Saturday claimed to have arrested three south Kashmir militants along with arms and ammunition in Rajouri district of Jammu.
An official said that on a specific input, operation was launched in Rajouri town on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday and forces successfully nabbed the three militants belonging to south Kashmir.
He identified the arrested trio as Rahil Bashir alias Ayaan Bhai of Pulwama, Amir Jan alias Hamza of Kakapora and Hafiz Younis Wani alias Zubair of Shopian.
He said two AK-56 rifles, six AK magazines with 180 RDS, two Chinese Pistols, three Pistol magazines with 30 RDS, four grenades, two pouches and 1 lakh cash was recovered from the possession of arrested trio.
A police officer, while confirming the arrest of the trio, said that an FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered and further investigation is on.
