SRINAGAR — Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir arrested two ‘hybrid’ militants linked to the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) in Poonch district, the police said in a statement on Saturday.
ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain called it a major success for security forces in resolving several grenade attacks in the area. During the operation, security forces are said to have recovered three grenades and a pistol, preventing potential attacks.
A security official explained that ‘hybrid’ militants appear ordinary but engage in or assist with militant activities, making them difficult to detect.
Jain added that upon interrogation, it was revealed that the duo had planned major conspiracies, including lobbing grenades at a temple, army locations, and a hospital. “They were also involved in pasting anti-national posters across Poonch to instil fear among the public.”
He further said the investigation had uncovered links to militant groups across the border, emphasizing the significance of their arrest.
