J&K Govt urges startups and nurtures entrepreneurial culture

SRINAGAR — The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is aiming to support entrepreneurs and develop technology, hence providing a plethora of career possibilities and improving the Union Territory’s financial profile. In order to complete this monumental challenge, the J&K administration is focused on areas like food manufacturing, agriculture, sustainable resources, arts, and app development by aggressively fostering companies in these critical industries.

Addressing the talk at the National Academia-Industrial Conclave at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha remarked that an effective academic partnership will deliver genuine improvement to the commercial and public sectors.

Furthermore, Sinha stated that it will give a chance to stimulate creativity and design a fresh strategy of IEC–Innovate, Evolution, and Commercialize essential expertise, as well as generate unique understanding to suit the demands of the possible future. He described startup companies as “game-changers” for productivity expansion, saying the administration is committed to providing development and seed finance to innovative workable ideas.

The entrepreneurial boom has begun in J&K, with Aroma Mission start-ups providing the greatest launching grounds, resulting in familiar names such as Bharat Bhushan. J&K’s environment transforms the state’s youngsters into employment generators instead of unemployed people.

With the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the state authorities accept, finance, and support the initiatives of youngsters. The government’s construction of industrial innovation hubs encourages teenagers to take control of their own future and serves as examples for the following era.

Aspiring entrepreneurs can use the Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED) to transform their creative company plans into life. Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh, stated that the facility could well serve as a gateway for culturing innovative insights and a rigorous framework to endorse agri-entrepreneurs, smaller companies, experts, intellectuals and technically profound individuals from all the nearby places of Jammu and Kashmir including Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab as well.

According to Dr Singh, the Kathua biotechnology park seems to have the capacity to develop 25 enterprises annually, which could become one of the park’s major services to the community.

After the introduction of the J&K single-window portal in February 2022, Jammu and Kashmir remained the first UT to be connected with the National Single Window System (NSWS). The NSWS is a one-stop electronic portal that lets entrepreneurs, businesses, and financiers register for numerous pre-operational clearances needed to launch a company in India. It simplifies the corporate enrollment procedures by enabling the beneficiaries to obtain important permissions electronically rather than visiting official agencies. Some other firm “Gatoes”, created by Jibran Gulzar, has 1450 employees who carry food and other supplies to families around Kashmir, establishing it the biggest venture.
