SRINAGAR — After a brief lull, the exchange of firing resumed between militants and government forces in Srinagar.
The firing had earlier stopped after a pre-dawn encounter broke out in Nawakadal area of Downtown Srinagar.
Police sources said that there was no firing for more than four hours after initial exchange of gunfire between the two sides. “The firing has resumed,” they said.
As a precautionary measure, authorities have suspended voice calling and mobile internet services in Srinagar.
This is the first gunfight in Srinagar city after August 05, 2019.
