SRINAGAR — After suspending operation due to darkness yesterday, firing resumed on Tuesday morning at the encounter site in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A senior Police officer said that as the first ray of light struck this morning, the forces resumed the operation. “Heavy exchange of firing is going on right now,” the officer said.
Pertinently, yesterday six were killed in the gunfight including two CRPF troopers, one J&K policeman, one Army soldier and two local LeT militants.
Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh yesterday during a press conference said that top LeT commander, Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants. As per DGP, he was instrumental in recruiting new militants and was mastermind behind many attacks on security forces and political activists.
