Allow fertilizer, pesticides dealers to operate for two hours daily: Horticulture Department

SRINAGAR — Horticulture Department has asked Divisional Administration to allow pesticide/fertilizer dealers to remain open for two hours every day.

A letter in this connection reads, “In pursuance to the instructions of Ministry of Home Affairs which has categorised manufacturing and supply of Agriculture/Horticulture inputs as essential commodities, the timely availability of inputs like fertilizer and pesticides is of utmost importance for quality production of fruit crops.”

“Keeping in view the importance of timely availability of these critical inputs, it is requested that the fertilizer/pesticide dealers of respective districts be allowed to remain operational for two hours every day while strictly maintaining social distancing as per laid down guidelines,” the letter added.

It has also advocated for allowing fruit growers of Kashmir to make the necessary purchase during the notified time period while maintaining social distancing and following the SOP as laid down by the health department.
