SRINAGAR — As part of its outreach program, New Delhi is planning to send another batch of Union ministers to Jammu and Kashmir after the revocation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the State into two Union Territories – Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office will be finalizing the list of the ministers visiting Valley in the coming few days, in consultation with Union Home Ministry.

Media reports, while referring to sources in New Delhi, have suggested that the dates of this visit will be finalized after the budget session of the Parliament will be over, which is scheduled to end on 3rd April.

It has been learnt that the focus of the second visit will be on ten Kashmir districts, while as in first visit, last month by Central ministers, many areas were left out because of bad weather and snow.

A total number of 37 Central ministers had visited J&K last month and during their stay here, they had visited 60 locations in 12 districts, inaugurated 210 projects and held 100 public meetings.

During the upcoming visit, according to sources, the ministers are expected to camp in these districts for one or two days, to understand the problems of these areas and hold a detailed interaction with the people and also public meetings.

Each minister is expected to be assigned a district or more than one district and to assess the status of the Centrally sponsored schemes there.

According to the officials, the second visit by ministers will help to expedite the process of pending projects and will also seek feedback from the locals about these projects and the governance issues.
