Army soldier shoots himself dead in north Kashmir

URI — A soldier shot himself dead in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

Police sources said that Army rifleman identified as Raksheet Kumar son of Kuldeep Kumar shot himself dead by using his service rifle at Jack Post, Uri.

The deceased was a resident of Ramgarh, Samba district of Jammu region and was affiliated with Jammu Kashmir Light Infantry 2.

A police official, while confirming the incident, said that the soldier died on spot. He said a case in this regard has been registered and investigation has been set into motion.
