SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police today said that the accused involved in the alleged rape of a girl is not a juvenile as claimed by the school authorities.
Police said that a special investigation team has been constituted to probe the incident.
“The accused has been arrested. Punishment will be awarded by the Court as per law. The accused is not a juvenile,” a top police officer said.
Meanwhile, protests erupted at several places in Kashmir with people observing strike against the heinous crime.
