Campaign on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan held at Lal Ded Hospital

Srinagar: A campaign on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was held at Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar which provides exclusive services and emergency and interventional care in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology for women from all over Kashmir.

The hospital being the busiest for maternity services has people complaining about the sanitary problems faced inside and outside premises of the hospital.

In this case, the organizers aimed to upgrade the skills of Safayi Karamcharis in keeping the hospital clean.

The campaign, which lasted for three days, started on 11 April, 2018 and concluded on 13 April, 2018.

Pertinently, the Safayi Karamchari staff was instructed to clean the premises of the hospital a week before the commencement of the campaign. The staff had already cleaned the hospital and the campaign, therefore, turned out to be a formality only.

On the conclusion of the campaign, everybody present at the conclusion ceremony was shocked when the Award Selection Committee choose Nursing Staff (Ms. Narinder Kaur, Ms. Parmina and Ms. Naseema) to be awarded instead of Ms. Afshana who heads the Safayi Karamcharis.

Unfortunately, during such events, the higher ups take advantage of their influence and the actual working staff is ignored, avoided and disappointed.

The Award Selection Committee, however, consisted of Asiea Naqash (Minister of State for Health), Principal, Saniya Rashid and the superintendent of the hospital.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is a campaign in India that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of Indian cities, smaller towns and rural areas. The campaign was launched in 2014 by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
